Honourable Bolaji Odusanya Celebrates Second Year Anniversary, Commissions New Projects

The chairman of Ijebu-North Local Government Area, Honourable Bolaji Odusanya, held an event on Friday at the local government secretariat to mark his second year in office. 

The event drew dignitaries from across Ogun State and celebrated the chairman's tenure over the past two years. 

Among those in attendance were former senators, Senator Lekan Mustapha, former House of Reps Member; Honourable Abdul-majid Adekoya, and former Deputy Governor; Chief Mrs Yetunde Onanuga.

Royal fathers including the Orimolusi of ijebu-Igbo; Oba Lawrence Adebajo, Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye; Oba Absulrazaq Adenugba  and other Kings and Baales from across Ijebu-North were also present to show their support for the chairman's leadership. 

The event began with the opening of a 3 classroom blocks (with office and store) and lock-up shops at Ago-Iwoye, commissioned by the Ebumawe and notably flanked by the Orimolusi a former Deputy Governor; Chief Mrs Yetunde Onanuga. Afterwards, the Chairman and his entourage of guests and party/career executives arrived at the Secretariat  and he gave his opening remarks. 

In his remarks, he highlighted projects completed in the local government area over the past two years, such as road repairs, upgrades to water access, and improvements to schools and healthcare facilities; including the upgrades of the abattoir and the Legacy Building in the Secretariat. He thanked constituents for their continued support and love in the past two years and expressed gratitude to the Governor; His Excellency, Prince Adedapo Abiodun for his constant efforts to make the state a better place.

Following the chairman's speech, there were cultural dance performances presented by the Traditional African Dance troupe from the Department of Mass Communication at Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic. 

The dancers energetically portrayed traditions from the Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo culture through music, costume, and movement. The presentation drew applause from all in attendance. 

In attendance also were representatives from state agencies, various sectors which included Ponmo Dealers,  Market Associations, Transporters and other groups who hailed  the chairman for his service. As the event drew to a close, guests expressed their congratulations to Honourable Bolaji Odusanya and wishes for continued success over his next term in office. The anniversary event served to celebrate the progress made under the chairman's leadership.

Former Lawmaker Extols Achievements of Local Government Chairman 

 In an interview conducted at he event, former Member of the House of Representatives Honorable Abdelmajid Adekoya praised the work of Honorable Bolaji Odusanya on the occasion of the second anniversary of his chairmanship of Ijebu-North Local Government. 

When asked about Hon. Odusanya's time in office so far, Hon. Adekoya described numerous infrastructure projects that have benefited constituents across the local government area. He specifically highlighted the rehabilitation of roads, schools, and health centers, noting their positive impact on access to services. 

Hon. Adekoya also commended Hon. Odusanya's efforts to improve the business environment and improved security. He said the local government's support for small businesses and training programs have helped strengthen the local economy. 

In his remarks, Hon. Odusanya thanked the constituents, guests, career staff, royal fathers and other members of the society for their support and solidarity over the years, noting that his administration will continue prioritizing the needs of residents. 

He celebrated the progress made over the last two years but stressed more work remains. He stated that the people of Ijebu-North were his backbone and since the beauty of developmental politics is having the full support of the people, he will continue to put them first.

The anniversary event was also attended by Abraham Adesanya Jr.  a family member of the late statesman Chief Abraham Adesanya. 

Chief. Adesanya expressed happiness that his brother recently received a posthumous award from the local government in recognition of his contributions to the development of the area earlier in his career. 

The event came to an end with the commissioning of the Legacy building named after the late Statesman and leader; Senator Biyi Durojaiye. While cutting the ribbon, Senator Lekan Mustapha extolled late Senator Biyi Durojaiye’s life and political career. 

He also prayed for Honourable Bolaji Odusanya and wished him more years of success as he aims to take the local government to great heights.
