Department of Mass Communication Holds Annual TAC Day • We are Bringing in Major Partnerships Next Year- Adeoye

Toheeb Shittu The Department of Mass Communication, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo, on Thursday, held its annual Traditional African Communication (TAC) Day. The event, which held in the Abusi Hall, had in attendance, guests from the BCOS Media House, and other familiar faces which included: Mr. Ogunnariwo, Alhaji Adeoye, Mr. Ogundijo, Mrs. Oyefuga, the Director of Students’ Affairs and other Departmental Staff. Activities that were displayed during the event included dance, music, fashion parade, food presentation and drama; all cutting across the Ibo, Yoruba, Fulani, Edo and Ghanian ethnic groups.  The event   started with an opening prayer by Mrs Ogundijo; the Department’s Technologist, after which   the football players who won the Rector’s Cup Competition were presented their gold medals for a successful outing. Toheeb Shittu, Ololade Gafar The football team of the Mass Communication Department, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, yesterday, won the Rector’s Cup Competition, after beating their relentless opponents; Business Administration 5-4 in penalties.   Both football team’s started off with several challenging moments in the first half, which saw Ibrahim put the ball in the back of the net after a smooth display of attacking brilliance by a combined force from the midfield which allowed Omokemi give Ibrahim the assist. Owolabi Bashir The Newly Elected Student Union Government President of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Comrade Abdul Azeez Olawale, has said that he is accessable and approachable. He made this statement in his Presidential speech during the SUG Inauguration ceremony which held at the institution’s auditorium on Friday. In an event which had the presence of principal officers of the institution, students and parents, Azeez noted that the impact of the former Rector of the institution; Professor Jumoke Bilesanmi-Awoderu cannot be overemphasized. AAPOLY Elects Student Leaders

Caleb Ijioma After months of no student union activities in the institution, students of Abraham Adesanya polytechnic (AAPOLY), Ijebu Igbo, Ogun state, on the 31st of August, elected student leaders who will steer the affairs of the 2022/2023 academic year as executives in the student union government.    Recall that the last student union election held was on the 2nd of April, 2021, and executives subsequently graduated on the 8th of December, leaving the office empty, with management refusing to hold elections.    In what turned out to be low participation, 896 students were able to determine the fate of aspirants vying for different positions.    Abdul-Azeez Olawale from the Mass communication department garnered 510 votes at the poll, making him win against his opponent Abe John who had 377 votes.
